Mission Initiatives

Three initiatives for Student Success -

__Initiative 1 - One Book - One Mission__

Join us in "One Book - One Mission" - "a dedicated and passionate belief that the themes and ideas contained in great books can change lives".

This project originated from the Student Success Initiative workshop this last Friday at Valley College.

Here is how you can help.

1. you can join us in the Steering Committee. This Committee will work on the program and consult with faculty, classified, students, and administrators in first selecting our "Mission Book", and second in developing the study and teaching resources and planning and organizing events surrounding the program.

2. you can provide us with your input on which book we should select at Mission.

3. you can participate as a faculty, student, classified, or administrator in "reading" our "Mission Book" and participating in the seminars, discussions, podcasts, video casts, and the like.

__Initiative 2 - "Mission Write"__

- a showcase of student, faculty, classified, and administrators writing at Mission College

Join us in showcasing Mission College writing. The focus of this project is to showcase our excellent skills in writing at Mission College. If you are a faculty member, and wish to set up a wiki for your class, please email David Jordan who will set one up for you. Also please do submit any of your students' term papers for Spring 2006 which you would like to showcase.

__Initiative 3- Mission Podcasts__

- where audio meets the classroom and the college

Join us in recording your class lecture and then showcasing your podcast. Of course if you would like to post a student group podcast, or podcast about the College, or your department, or activity, then email David Jordan who will lend you a digital voice recorder to record your podcast, and will upload it under Mission Podcast.
